Privacy policy
Last updated: November 2026
This policy explains how the operator of this website (“we”, “us”) handles personal information in connection with this website and the sale of the DEATA AI Governance Challenge course. We aim to handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.
Information we collect
This website does not have user accounts. We may receive:
- The email address you enter to download our free poster, whether you asked for occasional updates, and how you found the poster (for example, a link in an email).
- Details you choose to send us by email, such as your name, organisation, role, email address and the content of your enquiry.
- Purchase details passed to us by our payment provider when you buy a licence, such as your name, email address, organisation, billing address and the licence purchased. We do not receive or store your full card details.
- Standard technical information that our hosting provider records when you visit the site, such as IP address, browser type and pages requested.
- Anonymous visit statistics, such as which pages are viewed and how visitors found the site, collected by Vercel Web Analytics without cookies.
How we use it
- To respond to your enquiries.
- To keep a record of who has downloaded the free poster and, only if you ticked the box, to send you occasional AI governance tips and DEATA updates. You can unsubscribe at any time.
- To process your purchase and deliver the SCORM package and licence details.
- To provide support and communicate with you about your licence.
- To keep records required for tax, accounting and legal purposes.
- To keep the website secure and working properly.
We do not sell personal information and we do not use it for unrelated marketing.
Third-party services
We use the following providers, which process information under their own policies:
- Stripe processes payments made through our payment links. See Stripe’s privacy policy.
- Vercel hosts this website, including the course preview video, and stores the course files we deliver to buyers and the email addresses entered to download the poster. See Vercel’s privacy policy.
Some of these providers may store or process information outside Australia, including in the United States.
Cookies and analytics
This website does not use advertising cookies or third-party analytics. If that changes, we will update this policy.
Course data in your LMS
The course is delivered as a SCORM package that runs in your organisation’s learning management system. Learner records, results and completion data created when your staff take the course are held in your LMS and are managed by your organisation, not by us.
Security and retention
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, and we keep it only for as long as we need it for the purposes above or as required by law.
Access, correction and complaints
You can ask to access or correct the personal information we hold about you, or make a privacy complaint, by contacting us at hello@deata.com.au. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always on this page.
