Licence terms
Last updated: November 2026
1. About these terms
These terms apply when an organisation (“you”) purchases a licence to use the DEATA AI Governance Challenge course (“the Course”) from the course owner (the Licensor). By completing a purchase you agree to these terms on behalf of your organisation.
2. What you receive
After payment is confirmed, we will make the Course available as a SCORM 1.2 package through a private download link, shown on the order confirmation page or sent to the email address provided at purchase, together with the number of learners you have licensed. Download links expire 7 days after purchase, so please save a copy of the package when you receive it.
3. Licence grant
We grant your organisation a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to upload the Course to a learning management system controlled by your organisation and to make it available to your employees and contractors, up to the number of learners you have purchased.
4. Learner numbers
- A “learner” is any individual person who takes or views the Course, in whole or in part, including anyone enrolled in or given access to it.
- Licences are purchased per learner, with a minimum purchase of 10 learners.
- If you need more learners than you have purchased, buy additional learner licences before giving more people access.
5. Licence period
The licence is ongoing. It is a one-off purchase and does not need to be renewed, provided you continue to comply with these terms.
6. Restrictions
Unless we agree in writing, you must not:
- resell, sublicense, share or distribute the Course or the SCORM package to third parties;
- forward or share the download link, or the SCORM package, with anyone outside your organisation;
- make the Course publicly available or host it outside your organisation’s systems;
- modify, translate, reverse engineer or create derivative works from the Course, other than configuring settings within your LMS; or
- remove or alter any copyright, trade mark or attribution notices.
7. Intellectual property
All intellectual property in the Course, including the DEATA framework materials, content, design and media, remains with the course owner (the Licensor) and its licensors. You receive a licence to use the Course, not ownership of it.
8. Your LMS and your data
You are responsible for your LMS, its configuration and the learner data it holds. We recommend testing the SCORM package in your LMS before assigning it to learners.
9. Educational purpose
The Course provides general training about responsible use of AI in the workplace. In particular:
- it is not legal, regulatory, privacy or other professional advice, and does not replace advice from qualified professionals;
- it is not accredited, endorsed or certified by any government, regulator, professional body or standards organisation;
- completing the Course does not give learners a qualification. Any completion record or certificate issued by your LMS only records that the Course was completed;
- using the Course does not by itself make your organisation compliant with any law, regulation or standard. You remain responsible for your own AI policies, risk assessments and legal obligations;
- where your organisation’s policies differ from the Course, learners should follow your organisation’s policies; and
- the Course reflects general good practice at the time it was prepared. AI technology, laws and guidance change over time.
10. Prices, payment and refunds
Prices are in Australian dollars. No GST is charged. Payment is processed by Stripe. There are no refunds once the SCORM package has been made available to you, either on the order confirmation page or by email. Nothing in these terms excludes rights you may have under the Australian Consumer Law.
11. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, our total liability in connection with the Course is limited to the amount you paid for the licence.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia.
